About VORAIR

VORAIR makes one thing: a wearable cooling fan for people who are too hot and cannot stop what they are doing.

That covers a lot of days. Working outside in July. Walking to a meeting in a shirt you now regret. A job site with no shade, a garden that needs finishing, a warm workshop, a long flight, a campsite at four in the afternoon. In all of those, a fan that needs a table and an outlet is useless to you.

What we make

VORAIR Flow clips to a belt, a waistband, a backpack strap or the edge of a shirt, and sends a steady stream of air across your body. A brushless motor drives the turbine, a 4500 mAh battery sits alongside it, and one button cycles three speeds. It runs for about 4 hours in heavy use and 8 to 10 hours in normal use, charges over USB, weighs 0.61 lb, and it is 91 × 73 × 92.5 mm — about the size of a small camera.

The point of it is that your hands stay free. You do not hold it, you do not set it down, and you do not need to be near a power outlet for it to work.

What we will not tell you

Small appliances in this category are sold with a lot of invented numbers. We have chosen not to do that, and it costs us something, so it is worth explaining.

We correct our own supplier where they are wrong. The manufacturer's own description calls this “bladeless”. It is not — their own specification sheet lists fan blades, and their own cutaway photograph shows a turbine. So you will not find the word bladeless anywhere on this site.

And we say plainly what the product is not. It cools the person, not the room. It moves air across your skin so sweat evaporates faster; it does not lower the air temperature, it does not filter or condition the air, and it is not a medical device or any kind of protection against heat illness. It is not rated as waterproof. A USB cable is not included in the box.

There is a comparison table on the product page setting VORAIR Flow against a handheld fan, a desk fan and no fan at all, including the rows where we come off worse. We would rather you skip this than buy it for the wrong job and return it.
